TRI-SCHOOL THEATRE CONSERVATORY
Tri-School
Theatre was born out of a vision to create a theatre arts training program for
students attending the three Catholic, single-sex high schools in North Orange
County: Cornelia Connelly School and Servite High School in Anaheim, and Rosary
High School in Fullerton. Since its
inception in 1 988, the program has grown into a four year Performing Arts
Conservatory which now includes training in Musical Theatre, Acting, Movement,
Shakespeare, Improvisation, Technical Theatre, Playwriting, and an
Individualized Mentorship Program. A
Charter was developed in 1 994 formally establishing the Tri-School Theatre
Program into the curriculum of each of the three participating schools.
The Conservatory operates out of the 980 seat, fully-equipped Servite
Theatre,
In
addition to the Conservatory Training Program, Tri-School Theatre produces two
main stage shows and two student produced showcases each year featuring original
material written by Tri-School Students. The
program has been honored four times with the Music and Arts Commendation for
Youth Award (MACY) for the Best High School Musical in Orange County... in 1 992
for its production of 8rigodoon, in 1 994 for Into the Woods, in 1 996 for
Fiddler on the Roof, and again in 1 997 for The Secret Garden. The Conservatory
received the Teatro Del Arte Award for Artistic Excellence for the 1 995
production of Carousel. In 1
998, the MACY organization created the Non-Pareil Award for the Tri-School
Theatre production of Children of Eden.
Tri-School
Theatre maintains an active membership in the International Thespian Honor
Society and attends the California State Festival each year.
Over the years, Tri-School Theatre students have been awarded substantial
scholarships from the California State Thespian Organization for college and
summer theatre programs.
